Supportive Employment Program
Our Supportive Employment Program is designed to empower unhoused individuals by providing them with a structured path toward stable employment and self-sufficiency. Our primary goals focus on fostering long-term economic stability while addressing the immediate needs of participants.
Through this program, we aim to offer participants a reliable source of income, encouraging them to seek long-term employment opportunities that extend beyond their time with Open Door HousingWorks. To support this transition, we provide minimum wage stipends, which help participants achieve initial income and housing stability, laying a foundation for their future success.
Internship Program
We are currently developing an internship program designed to equip our participants with valuable job skills and hands-on experience. The goal of this initiative is to create pathways to long-term and sustainable employment by partnering with local businesses and organizations.
This program will match participants with internships aligned to their interests and career goals while addressing the real-world workforce needs of our partners. We are actively exploring a variety of industries to determine which roles are most in demand and which employers are willing to collaborate with us to make this program a success.
Community Clean-up Program
The Community Cleanup Program is focused on the beautification and revitalization of our shared spaces while offering meaningful work experience to individuals currently enrolled in our partnered employment and support programs. Participants in this initiative contribute to improving the appearance and health of the community by engaging in cleanup efforts such as litter removal, landscaping, and general maintenance. In return, they receive fair compensation for their time, gain valuable work experience, and build their résumés.
Beyond the physical work, this program emphasizes the development of essential soft skills such as time management, consistency, teamwork, and effective communication – preparing participants for long-term employment opportunities and encouraging a strong sense of community pride and responsibility.
We believe that investing in people and their environment creates a stronger, more connected neighborhood for everyone.
Building Skills. Opening Doors. Changing Futures.
We recognize the importance of equipping participants with the necessary skills and information to thrive in today’s competitive job market. Our program includes comprehensive training that reacquaints participants with current job market demands and expectations. We educate them on various employment opportunities, job descriptions, and what employers are looking for, ensuring they are well-prepared to navigate the workforce.
Individualized support is a cornerstone of our approach. Participants receive hands-on assistance in building resumes, writing cover letters, conducting job searches, and preparing for interviews. Additionally, we connect them with essential resources such as mental health and addiction counseling, healthcare, and other support services critical for their ongoing success.
